The Man on the Red Rock
The world of 13-year-old Mikey is spinning out of control: he is persecuted by a mysterious stranger and his mother seems to be involved in a smuggler's ring.
The Lempinens are normally a harmonious family. Even Mikey's sister Lina does not pester him too much. But suddenly things start happening that Mikey finds very strange indeed. There is a man with binoculars who follows him but never comes close enough for Mikey to demand an explanation. Then he sees his mother meeting with a shady-looking old-timer, right in the middle of Helsinki's notorious drug district.
As if that wasn't strange enough, Kati suddenly starts sending him signals that seem to indicate that she's interested in him – Kati whom he likes very much but who is, unfortunately, his best friend Björn's girl. Mikey decides to solve all these mysteries on his own. But in the face of immediate danger he realises that he needs the help of his friends and family after all. Perhaps it would have been better to ask questions first…
An exciting crime story and also a novel about the mysteries of puberty, from an author twice nominated for the German Youth Literature Award.
