The End of Sickness

The End of Sickness

Joachim Müller-Jung

Modern medicine transforms man into a large technological project. Stem cells will be used to create whole new organs with no need to use embryos. The cure for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases suddenly seem possible and the heart will become immortal.

One day man will need no more medicine; we will simply be renewed. But this biomedical revolution has its dark side. Who will be able to afford the progress? Will this lead to a two-class medicine, to a group who benefits from the development and one who does not? Who will protect us from the swindlers who take advantage of diseases and set out to clone humans?
