"...say you heard it whisper."
For many years Oskar Pastior has been one of the most original, independent and popular poets writing in German. There is, however, an important aspect of his work that has remained completely unknown and is now, for the first time, documented in Pastior's collected poems. Already in his Romanian years, in the mid-1950s, with no knowledge of the Wiener Gruppe or of Concrete Poetry, Pastior invented new poetic forms. The current volume presents Pastior's early texts in chronological order.
