Yes, it does happen, love at first sight, as Rosalie and Truffle discover under the apple tree. Their friends, however, know better. Love has to be earned, they say, you must play hard to get, work out, shape up, act like a man, and so on and so forth. So Rosalie puts on make-up, buys new dresses, does yoga – until Truffle no longer recognizes her. Truffle works out with dumbbells, invests in the stockmarket, and goes to the hairdresser – until Rosalie can't take him seriously any more. In the end, they both drag their misery back to the apple tree…
