Eighteen months later, Wilhelm Genazino gives the famous Poetry Lectures at Frankfurt University, using them for a tentative self-description and self-investigation. Photographs, pieces of clothing, drawers and boxes, even his own novels are instrumental in the author's exploration of detail: Genazino, the great narrator, becomes the narrator of writing itself – as he takes his readers on an adventure.
