Otto needs a vacation. Preferably close to the sea so that his sniffles will finally go away. But an entire summer without his parents? Unthinkable!
Otto always has a runny nose. Compared to other children, he is a bit smaller and generally weaker. That’s why his parents decide that it’s about time for Otto to recover and send him to summer camp at the sea. Otto is not amused! He’s homesick. He’s supposed to make new friends, but he doesn’t even know these other kids. And Ms Felgenkranz, the counsellor, gives him the creeps. He’s doing things he’s not allowed at home like digging
in the sand and getting dirty fingers. Playing ball, swimming in the sea, and eating an entire fish: Otto is slowly getting into it. A camp dance and a treasure hunt actually sound like fun! Otto would’ve never thought that vacation without his parents could be over so soon.
