Anton and the Christmas Present

Anton and the Christmas Present

Ole Könnecke

What do you do if you see a present fall from Santa Claus's sledge? Why, you pick it up and run after him, of course.

All Anton wanted was a little walk through the snowy winter woods. But then a parcel falls from the sky, right in front of him. And up there, higher than the tree tops, he sees Santa Claus flashing by on his sleigh!

Goodness! Now somewhere a child will be waiting for its present and not getting it. That would be terrible, Anton decides. And so he gives Santa a wild chase – across the mountains and down the rivers, through deep canyons and dark forests where wolves howl…

One thing is very strange, though. The longer the chase, the more Anton feels like he is nearing home again. That present – it couldn't be for him, by any chance?
