34 Meters Above Sea Level
Ella is a great storyteller. Even when she was a little girl, she started dreaming up colourful stories about her life to distance herself from her overly adventurous mother and excessively pedantic sister. Now Ella has landed her first job with a radio station, writing radio plays based on the life stories of famous women. She’s also met Paul and fallen in love for the first time.
Then Ella chances on a peculiar advertisement: »six-room apartment in Charlottenburg offered in exchange for smaller flat. No surcharges, no running costs or auxiliary expenses, no advances of any kind.« Ella discovers that the spacious flat is designed as a tribute to Verne’s Nautilus – its owner, Horowitz, is a failed oceanographer – and loses no time in accepting the swap. But while she remains hesitant about allowing Paul to grow too close to her, Horowitz has already eloped with her mother!
