Xifan Yang was born in 1988 in China and came to Germany at the age of five. After graduating from Munich`s Deutsche Journalistenschule (academy of journalism) she went on to work as a freelance journalist for Stern, SZ Magazin, NZZ am Sonntag, Neon, Nido, Wired and Dummy in Shanghai since 2011.
