Wolfgang Hermann, born 1961 in Bregenz, studied philosophy and German literature in Vienna, graduating with a thesis on Hölderlin. He has lived in Berlin, Paris, the Provence and, as a university reader, in Tokyo. A writer since 1987, he has published works for theater, music and radio, and written several books, most recently Herr Faustini verreist (2006). He is recipient of the Anton Wildgans Award 2006 and the Austrian Literature Award for New Writers 2007.
