Werner Herzog, born 1942 in Munich, studied history and literature in Munich and Pittsburgh. Since 1962 he works as a film director. His best-known works are Nosferatu (1978), Fitzcarraldo (1981), Cobra Verde (1987) and Mein liebster Feind (1999). He is also the author of several books, publications in Hanser Verlag include Vom Gehen im Eis (1978)and Die Eroberung des Nutzlosen (2004).
His life has been uniquely eventful. And his memoirs are a literary sensation.
