Matthias Rüb, born in 1962 in Zavelstein in Germany's Black Forest. He has been working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung since 1989, first as a cultural editor, then as correspondent for Central and Southern Europe and, ultimately, North America. Previous publications with Zsolnay include: Balkan Transit. Das Erbe Jugoslawiens (1998) and Der atlantische Graben. Europa und Amerika auf getrennten Wegen (2004).
