Hans-Ulrich Grimm, born in the deep South of Germany, lives in Stuttgart. After studying German literature, history and pedagogics, he worked as a correspondent for Der Spiegel from 1989 to 1996. Since then, he is a free contributor for Stern, GEO, Neue Zürcher Zeitung and others. He has written several bestsellers; Die Suppe lügt (new edition 2005), sold 150,000 copies and is regarded as one of the classics of modern food criticism.
