Gerd Ruge was born in 1928. He worked as a correspondent for the ARD in Moscow and Washington, and for Die Welt in Beijing. He has published several books and received numerous awards for his journalistic work, including the Adolf Grimme Award and the Bavarian Television Award. Gerd Ruge lives in Munich.
