Erhard Dietl

Erhard Dietl was born in 1953 in Regensburg, Bavaria, and lives and works in Munich as a freelance writer and illustrator. He has contributed illustrations to books by Ringelnatz, Erich Kästner and Christine Nöstlinger amongst others, and his own books have won him numerous awards, including the North Rhine Westphalian Prize for Children's Books, and the Austrian Prize for Books for Children and Young Adults. His best-selling series The Olchis is currently being made into a movie. Mama Bär schwimmt im Meer is the first of his books to be published by Hanser.
