Drago Jancar

Drago Jančar was born in Maribor in 1948, lives in Ljubljana and is regarded as the most significant living Slovenian author. His novels, essays and plays have been translated into many languages. In 1974 he was arrested for ›hostile propaganda‹. He has won numerous awards including the Kresnik Prize, the Jean Améry Prize and the 2020 Austrian State Prize for European Literature. His most recent novel was When Love is At Rest (In ljubezen tudi) (2017).
