Birk Meinhardt, born 1959 in Berlin, used to be a reporter at the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He has twice won the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize and lives and writes in Berlin. Recently published by Hanser: Brother and Sisters. The Years From 1973-1989 (novel, 2013).
