Benno Gammerl

Benno Gammerl is a historian who specialises in the history of empires, the history of emotions and research on queer life in Germany. After periods spent at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin and Goldsmiths College in London, he will be teaching as a professor of History of Gender and Sexuality at the European University Institute in Florence from 2021. He has received several awards for his research. Feeling Different is his non-fiction debut.
