Anke Kuhl was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1970, studied drawing and has been working in the shared studio space labor since 1998. She has won the Troisdorf Picture Book Grant and the Eulenspiegel Picture Book Prize, among others. She has been nominated several times for the German Children`s Literature Award, which she received in 2011. She lives with her husband and two children in Frankfurt am Main.
